This evening course focuses on specialization, advanced storytelling, visual language, sound design, production workflow, how to pitch and make budgets and the creation of festival-ready short films.
Filmmaking is collaborative. Spanning two semesters, this course strengthens your creative voice while training you to work efficiently within a professional production structure.
Over 20 intensive weeks, you will develop, produce, and complete several short films. However, the main focus of the course is the production of one major final project, with 12–14 shooting days per group, intended for festival submission. Each group has 6-7 students to cover the roles of the larger production.
This course is for those who want to deepen the knowledge they already have and create films collaboratively at an advanced level, learn how to pitch, make a budget and find ways to work in the industry.
As the course takes place in the evening, it is ideal for those who wish to combine a high-quality learning experience with work. The course is for individuals who want to dedicate twenty intensive weeks to creating films, talking about film, discussing film, and realizing both their own and others’ cinematic ideas.
The Advanced course is designed for individuals who have already attended a longer filmmaking program or have equivalent experience in the field of cinematic arts.
